


Staffing firms and job portals have observed a significant increase in the hiring of tech talent by Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India. According to Careernet, a talent solutions provider, the proportion of tech talent at GCCs is at least 55% of the total talent base. This trend has been particularly evident since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector, around 285,000 out of 475,000 employees at GCCs are engaged in tech roles.
Pureplay tech GCCs have an even higher concentration of tech talent, with 85% of their 500,000-strong workforce in technical positions. Other sectors, such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, energy, and retail, have also seen a surge in tech hiring, with 55% of their 640,000 GCC employees now in tech roles.
