Scams and frauds in the name of the Careernet and/or MyCareernet

Please be informed that Careernet strictly follows ethical recruitment practices, and we do not seek any monetary deposits from job seekers across profiles, at any stage of the recruitment process unless specified otherwise officially with the candidate(s). Neither do we appoint any agent/agency/company to either advertise job opportunities or conduct interviews on our behalf. Stay vigilant, exercise caution and report suspicious activities to the cyber crime cell.

To safeguard yourself and others, we request you to take the following actions:

  1. Do not entertain spurious SMS, calls, emails or letters with unrealistic or false promises.
  2. Official emails from Careernet will be from the domain extensions of “careernet.in”, “careernet.co.in”, “mycareernet.net”, “mycareernet.org” or “mycareernet.info”. We do not send emails from any other domains such as Gmail, Yahoo or any other.
  3. Do not respond/engage with individuals and/or agencies in any manner, whether through e-mails, calls or chat messages, as doing so will be at your own risk. You are requested to take due care to validate the authenticity of the source of any email received in the name of Careernet. For Eg: Visit the company website or call the landline number and verify the details.
  4. A fraudulent email may mention the bank account number of an individual. The account details may also be given after calling a number mentioned in the fraudulent mail or message. In such cases, the bank account will not be in the name of “Careernet Technologies Private Limited”.
  5. Cyber Crime complaints may be registered on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at https://cybercrime.gov.in
    • The complainant shall initiate the filing of the cyber crime on the portal by registering with their name and Indian mobile number.
    • An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the mobile number provided by the complainant which will be valid for 30 mins.
    • After entering the OTP, the complainant will be successfully registered and can proceed with the complaint.
    • In the complaints page, category and sub-category of the complaint may be chosen and details of the incident and suspect shall be provided.
    • Once the complaint is successfully registered, the complainant may download the PDF of the complaint from the portal and will receive confirmation on email and mobile no.
  6. Other alternatives for recourse against Cyber Crime:
    • The cyber crime complaints are registered with the cyber crime cells either online or offline.
    • It is not necessary for the victim to register the complaint with the cyber crime cell in the city where he or she is residing or where the crime was committed. For example, a complaint against a fraud that occurred/originated in Delhi can also be filed with the cyber crime cell in Mumbai.
    • In case the victim does not have access to any of the cyber crime cells, he or she can lodge an FIR at the local police station under Section 154 of Code of Criminal Procedure.
  7. Alternately the National helpline no. 155260 may be contacted to register complaints on cyber fraud.
