
India’s technology job market has fallen to a 28-month low, with hiring activity slowing amid AI-driven productivity gains, global uncertainty, and an expanding talent pool. The shift is intensifying competition across technology roles as companies become more selective in their hiring decisions.
According to Neelabh Shukla, our Chief Business Officer, the slowdown is closely tied to the growing adoption of AI across software development. “AI adoption in software development is now becoming mainstream and is starting to impact tech hiring globally. India, in particular, is seeing a sharper short-term effect given we are a high-volume tech hiring market,” he tells India Today.
