After layoffs, as employees are doing their best to find jobs, what are companies doing to ease this process? Enter outplacement solutions.
Anshuman Das, CEO at Careernet, a talent solutions provider that has also been working with organisations to provide support in outplacement solutions, says as large, traditional companies grow and look at new strategic directions, they might find some employees’ skills are not completely aligned with the new goals. “We call this the skills-fade-out situation. In these cases, outplacement is offered as a solution to help employees assess their strengths, provide a deeper discovery about themselves, arm them with interview tips, understand the new emerging opportunities, and then to help them prepare for the shifts,” he says.
However, Das explains that the concept of outplacement is consumed in a different way in the new-age knowledge-based industry. “People here are already aware of the opportunities. In a lot of cases, it’s just about connecting them with new opportunities,” he says.
