High attrition is not new to startups. As startups seek to find a product-market fit in the early stages, striking a people-fit is just as elusive. From there, when startups eventually reach the growth stage, they tend to buy scale by throwing more people at the problem.
But as it turns out, high attrition continues to haunt these startups even when they mature and become listed companies. If anything, it has only increased. Scarred by years of mass layoffs and a bleak funding environment, startup employees of even mature startups are taking flight.
And 70% of those who are quitting startups are no longer keen on joining another, said Neelabh Shukla, the chief business officer at recruitment firm Careernet.
Three to four years ago, only about 30% of this group would’ve opted to join multinational companies or consultancies, he added.
Please note that Careernet does not practice charging a placement fee from any job seeker across profiles. Word of caution to the fraudulent news and information, if anyone demands any kind of charges from you, in the name of Careernet Consulting.
