India’s cybersecurity talent shortage continues to deepen as organizations struggle to fill critical roles in emerging security domains. According to Careernet’s Cybersecurity Talent Outlook Report, nearly 57,000 cybersecurity professionals switch jobs annually, reflecting an attrition rate of 18.9%, while close to 39,000 cybersecurity positions remain open across the country.
The talent gap is particularly pronounced in high-demand areas such as AI security, cloud security, IoT security, blockchain security, and Web3 security, where demand continues to outpace the availability of qualified professionals.
Our spokesperson, Anshuman Das, CEO & Co-founder, Careernet, said, “In traditional areas such as governance, risk and compliance, talent availability is relatively balanced. However, specialised domains including AI/ML security, privacy, cloud-native security, blockchain and Web3 security, and quantum-safe security face clear demand-supply gaps.”
Das added that as organizations increasingly adopt AI, cloud platforms, and connected devices, cybersecurity is becoming a board-level priority, making specialized talent more critical than ever.
