The Great Resignation saga, as it is termed, is a phenomenon primarily observed in countries with a per capita income of $20,000 onwards, explained Anshuman Das, Co-Founder and CEO of talent solutions provider Careernet.
Experts say the pandemic has made candidates realise that they don’t have to be in big cities to get jobs and build careers. According to Das, a candidate from Hassan, who would have moved to Bengaluru for employment, can now look at Mysore or Mangalore for building a career.
Before the pandemic, Das said growth used to be centred around 7-8 big cities, a.k.a. the metros. However, Careernet has observed that the future looks very promising for small cities in India having a population of 1 million to 4 million to witness talent democratisation and diversified yet impactful growth journeys which will lead to enhanced work-life balance.
Das further said that the industry is in a phase of transition where its work culture is becoming heterogeneous.
