Women are steadily reshaping India’s flexi IT workforce, with participation rising from ~30% in FY22 to 40% in FY26, according to our data. The shift toward core business roles is evident, with finance and accounting (43%) and data science and analytics (34%) leading, while participation remains concentrated in metro hubs like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune.
“Over the past five years, women’s participation in IT/ITeS has evolved beyond just numbers to the kinds of roles they are choosing. Finance and accounting lead the mix, signalling that this is no longer a peripheral participation story. Women are increasingly gravitating toward functions that sit at the core of business outcomes,” said Neelabh Shukla, our Chief Business Officer.
