A recent report by talent solutions provider Careernet states that every third candidate placed by the company was a woman. According to Careernet’s internal data, of the 50,000 offers made this year, women accounted for 32 per cent. This is a 6 per cent increase from 2019. The average CTC for women also recorded a hike of 56 per cent in 2021 as compared to the year before.
The primary sectors which fuelled the rise in job offers to women include IT/ IT services, offshoring, global innovation centres (GICs) non-tech, and tech. Pune recorded the maximum growth in job offers to women candidates with a 10X jump followed by Delhi/NCR with 6X growth, and Chennai with 4X growth in 2021, as compared to the year before.
